Hebden Bridge
I visit Hebden Bridge in Calderdale occasionally as it's another place that's not far from my home and is a unique village, a little bit quirky and a very nice place to visit with the Rochdale Canal passing by giving photographers like me some wonderful photo opportunities especially along the very scenic canal.
I often take a stroll along the Hebden Bridge canal when I visit and take in some of the pretty views and see how many people have made the canal their home, living in the canal boats here.
I also usually have a wander around the park and into the village centre to look at the shops as the whole place is really nice and in a fairly small localised area.

There's more about Hebden Bridge than you realise as it is home to a lot of interesting and different people with a more liberal view on life sometimes with a more hippy 60's feel to some of the people and the place.
The people of Hebden Bridge have a more sedate way of life compared to the nearby town of Halifax, maybe its the beautiful location or quite canal living or that the people have taken a conscious step back from the mad rat race most of us are still in.
Hebden Bridge is home to a few independent shops in its small centre and quite a selection of restaurants with many offering a vegetarian or vegan menu around the wider village area.
Hebden Bridge Market is nice but a fairly small open market that mainly operates at the weekends with a variety of stalls operating on different days from Fresh Produce and general retail to Second Hand Market with an Arts & Crafts and Artisan type makers market usually held on a Saturday.

Summer time its a great place to go and relax and enjoy the surroundings do a little bit of shopping and have a drink and a meal. Strolling along the canal side in the summer sun is a great feeling.
There's also a number of one off events held in Hebden Bridge like the Steam Punk Weekend which always brings in large crowds of people to experience and enjoy the event and see the people dressed up in their best and interesting Steam Punk attire. The duck race is another crowd puller to Hebden Bridge.
For photographers, visiting Hebden Bridges Steam Punk Weekend is always a must to capture some great Steampunk Photographs.
The Steam Punk event is very friendly and people love have their photograph taken in their lavish and, interesting and often quirky costumes.
