When Visiting Tower Bridge in London...
Everyone has heard about Tower Bridge in London but it is sometimes mistaken for or miss named as London Bridge which is a totally different bridge that is a lot less spectacular than Tower Bridge in London.
My Photos of Tower Bridge here show that it is more than just a historic old bridge in a nursery rhyme that stretches across the River Thames in London and occasionally opens up to let big ships / tall ships pass through, its a tourist attraction in its own right that is a Great Places to Visit and just awesome inside and outside and one of those unique landmark buildings as well when seen from afar.

When visiting London Bridge make sure you go inside as well to the top walkway to see the history of Tower Bridge and for it's views over London.
Its a few quid to enter London Bridge and make the climb up the many stairs (there is a lift if you need one) to go up to the walkway above the bridge but in my opinion it's definitely worth the climb and the cash for the views of the Thames and large parts of London and the experience of walking over the glass floor above road and the River Thames flowing beneath, that's if you dare.
There's some great photo opportunities here inside looking down through the glass floor at the little people and vehicles passing below as well as the views of London outside.

On the actual bridge itself, it is often very very crowded with people visiting and taking their own snaps, even into the later evenings especially in summer time. But if its not too crowded or you're happy to brave the scrum, It's a great place to take some family snaps where you can capture some great photographs with some of London's other landmarks in the not so distant distance.
The Tower of London is also very close to the bridge so you get some great views of it from here and also some great views for Tower Bridge from along the cobbles just outside of The Tower of London.
A tip for any photographers out there is to step away from the bridge a little way so you can also capture the the whole bridge in a few landscape shots with some nice iconic landmarks in the background like The Shard which is often lit up at night.
You can walk along the banks of the Thames all sides to capture it in its fullness form many different angles.
And try visit earlier or later in the day to avoid the mad scrum on and around the bridge but no matter what time of day you go you're going to be able to get some great photographs of this iconic London Landmark.

As you can see from my photographs, I love to capture it at night more than anything although it also looks great in any shot on a beautiful sunny day.
If you get chance to pop back to the bridge when it gets dark and you have to opportunity to capture some great photographs when it's lit up with all the surrounding city lights too.
It can be a little difficult due to the often very slow moving traffic across the bridge but you can try capture some slow shutter light trails here, The later you go the better the traffic is going to be moving over the bridge which when I last visited had only a 20mph speed limit in place anyway.
Experiment and maybe try getting one of the many big red bus in your shot when doing slow shutter speed light trails like one of my photos near the top of this page.
